Colin McBride - Chairman |
COLIN McBRIDE – CHAIRMAN– joined Purfleet as a midfield player in August 1985, and made 227 appearances and scored 32 goals. He then joined Concord Rangers and returned to Purfleet (then Thurrock) as manager in August 1997, where he was in charge for 524 matches. Joined Hornchurch for the 2006/07 season, winning the Isthmian League and Essex Senior Cup. He was in charge for 180 matches, before becoming general manager in September 2009 and Chairman in 2010.

Jim McFarlane - Manager |
JIMMY McFARLANE: Became caretaker manager early last season when Colin McBride took over the running of the club and has now been confirmed in the post. A commanding centre-back who played for Milwall Wanderers and Clapton before joining Purfleet, as they were then called, in 1991. Made no fewer than 634 appearances for the Ship Lane club, scoring 75 times, despite missing one season through injury and spending 1996-97 with Concord Rangers. Jimmy joined us in 2006 and played over 100 games despite breaking his leg in the opening match of the 2007-08 season

Bill Lappage - Specialist Coach |
Started at Dulwich Hamlet in 1951 and "retired" from Croydon FC in 1998 - in the years between served at seven different clubs involved as player and Assistant Manager/Coach. In this time Bill helped to bring home seven League Titles (two League and Cup doubles!) and eight Cups. Joined Colin McBride at Purfleet (now Thurrock FC) in 2000. Most memorable matches were the two F.A. Cup 1st Round games (both televised) against Luton and Oldham. Bill followed Colin McBride to AFC Hornchurch and had another great season seeing the Club winning the League Title and Essex Senior Cup.

Darren Behcet - Goal Keeper |
DARREN BEHCET: Now entering his third season as an Urchin, having joined the club in January 2009. Behcet started with West Ham and then spent two years at Yeovil without seeing Football League action. He had loan spells at Cambridge United, Dorchester and Bognor. Short stays at Sutton and Grays followed before he came to the Stadium and soon became an undisputed first choice.

Tommy Black - Forward |
TOMMY BLACK: Started with Arsenal, where he made one Champions League appearance and one in the Premier League, both as a substitute. Went on to play more than 200 Football League games for a variety of clubs, though more than half of them were for Crystal Palace. Had a spell as player-manager of Hemel Hempstead Town before joining Hornchurch in April 2010.

MICHAEL BOWDITCH: Young goalkeeper who has been on the first-team bench on several occasions but has yet to make his debut.

Billy Coyne - Defender |
BILLY COYNE: Also entering his third season at Hornchurch, in his case his third full one, having arrived here in August 2008. He was quickly a fixture in the side and has already reached his century of appearances. Before joining us he was a junior at Arsenal and also had a spell with QPR.

Jamie Dormer - Midfield |
JAMIE DORMER: Best known for his service to Billericay, for whom he played over 200 games before arriving here in October 2009. Started as a youngster with Spurs and also represented East Ham, Barking, Hertford, Leyton Pennant and Romford.

GREG ENSTONE: A summer signing who started with Colchester and then moved on to Lincoln, where he got as far as the substitutes’ bench for the first team but was not called into action. Looked impressive in our pre-season friendlies

TAMBESON EYONG: Ex-West Ham junior who spent time with Dagenham, Aveley and Harlow before signing for us in March. A strong-running winger with plenty of potential.

Jo Flack - Forward |
JO FLACK: Topped our scorecharts last season with 12 league and cup goals, despite not joining us from Billericay until October and then missing the last two months through injury. Jo will be hoping for at least 20 this time round. Previously played for Havant & Waterlooville and Stevenage.

RONNIE FLETCHER: Another former West Ham junior, he had a short spell with Sutton before signing for Colin McBride at Thurrock in March 2004. Joined Urchins for the 2006-07 campaign and, despite sitting out the 2008-09 season, he has also chalked up more than 100 outings for the club.

RICKIE HAYLES: Joined us from Tilbury in February2010. A long-throw specialist who can also play in midfield. Before becoming a Docker he had Ryman League experience with Ilford and he has also turned out for Brentwood and Eton Manor.

| JONATHAN HUNT: Dead-ball specialist who made well over 200 Football League appearances for a variety of clubs, most notably Birmingham for whom he scored a hat-trick against Crewe. Played for St Albans and Woking before moving into the League, and rejoined St Albans before coming to us early in the 2009-10 season.

LEON HUNTER: Another of our summer signings, having been joint-top scorer for play-off winners Boreham Wood last season. A former Southend trainee, he wore the colours of Chelmsford and Heybridge before a lengthy stay with Billericay.

DAVE McSWEENEY: An experienced full-back and another summer signing. He made 70 Football League appearances for Southend before spells with Crawley, Dagenham, Billericay, Grays and Billericay again

Ollie Morris-Sanders - Goal Keeper |
OLLIE MORRIS-SANDERS: Ever-present for Wivenhoe in 2006-07, then spent some time at Heybridge before joining Aveley midway through last season and helping them into the play-offs. Followed manager Rod Stringer to Braintree in the summer before joining Urchins early this season to replace the injured Darren Behcet.

MICHAEL RAMKIN: A product of our successful youth team, Michael signed Ryman forms for us in 2007, when he captained the double-winning Capital League side and made a few first-team appearances before moving to Thurrock. Also played for Waltham Forest and Ilford before returning to the Stadium in September 2009, only to suffer a season-ending injury shortly afterwards.

JAMIE RICHARDS: Wandering striker who rejoined Urchins in the summer. Shared top-scoring honours with Leon Hunter at promoted Boreham Wood last season. A former Spurs junior who has since played for Enfield, St Margaretsbury, Leyton Pennant, East Thurrock, Arlesey, Hayes, St Albans, Braintree, Enfield again, East Thurrock again, Hornchurch (in the latter part of the 2007-08 season) and Harlow.

LEWIS SMITH: Former Fulham junior who spent time at Bishops’s Stortford before being offered a contract by Bournemouth at the start of last season. Unluckily for Lewis, the Cherries were under a transfer embargo and the move was vetoed. Returned to Stortford, then spent time at Chelmsford and Thurrock before joining Hornchurch a week into the current season.

Michael Spencer - Defender / Midfield |
MICHAEL SPENCER: This left-sided player, as the current jargon would have it, turned out for Enfield, Thurrock and Fisher, before becoming an Urchin early in 2009 and scoring on his debut, a 2-1 win at Harrow. Was at left-back that day but now looks to have established himself on the wing.

ELLIOT STYLES: The tough-tackling club captain is not far short of his landmark 200th appearance going into his fifth season at the Stadium. Barring injury, he should be in our all-time top six by May. Played for Ilford and Redbridge before joining us.

Andy Tomlinson - Midfield |
ANDY TOMLINSON: Made his Urchins debut in the famous FA Trophy win at Arlesey in 2004, when he was the only outfield player not plucked from the youth team. Tommo had previously played for Heybridge, Billericay, Brentwood and Enfield. Our longest-serving player, though he spent 2005-06 with Leyton and Maidenhead. His 231 appearances put him ninth on our all-time list and five more will lift him to fifth place, though he misses the start of the season through injury.

Martin Tuohy - Forward |
MARTIN TUOHY: Now established as one of the league’s most feared strikers, he made fleeting Rymjan League appearances for Barking and Redbridge. before becoming a regular squad member at East Thurrock five seasons ago. He moved on to Aveley for 2006-07 but it was after switching to Great Wakering in mid-season that he began to make a name for himself, scoring 14 times in 24 games. Another 22 goals came his way during the next campaign; then a return to East Thurrock for 2008-09 saw his form explode. His 39 league goals earned him the ‘golden boot’ and he passed the 50 mark in all competitions. Stepping up to the Premier with Aveley last season, he scored another 28 goals

ROSS WALL: Formerly with Burnham Ramblers, he emerged from our Capital League side in January 2008 and showed much promise. Spent part of last season at Concord Rangers but returned in January 2010.

Mark Janney - Midfield |
Mark Janney – midfield – previously with Tottenham Hotspur until September 1997, Brentford (loan), Dagenham & Redbridge 1997 to 2005, Braintree 1999 (loan) as he recovered from injury, Maldon 2005, Heybridge Swifts 2005, Thurrock October 2005. Scored on his Hornchurch debut at Enfield Town (August 2006). Appearances 160 + 22 – goals 44. Missed much of 2009-10 due to injury.

John Purdie - Defender |
John Purdie – gefender - John signed from Thurrock in June 06. He joined Purfleet in July 1997 from Billericay Town, and made his debut on 16/8/97 against Yeading. He has made 362 appearances for Purfleet / Thurrock. Previously with West Ham United where he was a regular member of their reserve side. Club captain, debut at Enfield Town, 51 appearances, and scored against Ilford in the final match of the season, his first goal for eleven years. Appearances 143 – goals 1.

PAUL SHAVE: Made his debut in this league in 2003-04, with a single substitute appearance for Thurrock, but he has spent much of his career in the Essex Senior League. First joined us from Billericay in November 2008, after which his travels have taken him to London APSA, Billericay, Aveley, Billericay again, Hornchurch again and Tilbury before he signed for us for the third time towards the end of the 2009-10 season.
